Providence Academy Patriots

Athletic Department

While working as an assistant basketball coach, I realized the school’s marketing and spirit wear weren’t consistent, unique or impressionable. I decided to come up with a rebranding proposal that could be used for various graphical elements as well as for apparel and uniforms.

Previous Logos

Throughout the short history of the school, they’ve used a variety of different logos and emblems, which has created a confusing visual brand. I sought to create a uniform identity that would represent the entire school.

Concept Sketches

The goal was to create a main mascot logo and a secondary mascot logo since that is the direction many colleges are headed. Played around with using the a variant of the existing shield as the main icon as well as an eagle before settling on representing a patriot. The secondary mascot logo is a front facing patriot that is represented inside a shield outline. I also decided that having a lettermark and wordmark would be necessary for versatility.

The Patriot Identity

The final collection includes a side facing and front facing patriot logo. Both a lettermark and a wordmark, as well as the flexibility to use the existing academic logo. Added an addition logo in the shape of Arkansas to represent the teams when playing out of state as well as a letterhead for the athletic department.
